Caring for your fashion jewelry

I have realized that the greatest fear with possessing fashion jewelry is getting it tarnished or the beads being broken… The wires used for the fashion or costume jewelry are usually copper, brass, glass, wood, or leather etc. They are lightly coated which can get tarnished easily. Fashion jewelry is not meant to last a lifetime but with a little proper care, you can make them last for a very very long time. Here are some very general tips which you can use to take care of your favourite pieces.
1- First and foremost, keep your jewelry in a plastic ziploc bag with the air squeezed out to prevent oxidization and to avoid humidity. This will help reduce the tarnishing to a great extent and making your jewelry to last longer.
2- Keep your jewelry box in cool or warm place.
3- Always wear your jewelry the last and remove it first.
4- Never allow your fashion jewelry to come in contact with harsh chemicals, oils, nor spray perfumes directly on them. This will cause the jewelry to fade, discolor, or even ruin them completely.
5- If the jewelry gets wet, pat it dry with a towel before storing it. Do not keep the jewelry in the plastic jewelry bag if it is wet.
A little extra care will take you a long way. Keep shopping and keep spreading smiles.
Hope this helps you all smile emoticon
